Chinua Achebe Chinua Achebe was born in 16 november 1930. He’s the son of Albert Chinualimogu Achebe. He’s also a professor and critic. And he was a poet and novelist. Achebe is an intelligent person. He was raised by his parent. After all, he died a month ago.
okonkwo Okonkwo is a strongest warrior in Umuofia. He’s the son of an unsuccessful man. Okonkwo beat the cat during the match. He was unbeaten for 7 years. He has three wives. He was the famous wrestler in Umuofia. He gets angry quickly.
Village of umuofia Umuofia is a powerful clan. They had so many skilled in war. It has a great population. They had proud traditions and social institutions. It has powerful war- medicine called agadi-nawyi. Umuofia favorite hoppy is wrestling. They also had dance called the egwugwu.
The egwugwu The egwugwu are the symbol of culture. They do the dancing of egwugwu. They are seen as the ancestral God. They are the spirit of their ancestor. They are symbolically of their clan. Egwugwu serve as respested judges in community. They respect their own culture and traditional.
Okonkwo’s father unoka Unoka, a lazy improvident wine drinker. He enjoyed music. He’s also a flute player. His band was the famous in Umuofia. He just seemed to find no pleasure. He never got himself to work. Lastly, he died because of his debt.
Okonkwo’s daughter ezinma Ezinma is the eldest daughter of okonkwo. she cares about her father rules. She’s her father favorite child. She had a close relationship with her mother. she’s the only child of her mother. Ezinma is like a boy. She helped her parents in many ways.
obeirika Obeirika is okonkwo’s friend. Obierika as a foil for okonkwo. He is a reasonable person. He thinks before he acts. He’s also open minded. Obierika is receptive to new ideas. He understand and appreciates the changing values.
ikemefuna Ikemefuna is a adoptive 15- 16 years. Ikemefuna was born in Mbanta. He was adoptive son to Okonkwo. And he was raised by Okonkwo’s family. Okonkwo raised him as his own son. He helped Okonkwo in many ways. At last, he was killed by Okonkwo.
The missionaries Missionaries are the sons of God. They bring the word of Gospel. They built their own church in Umuofia. Umuofia’s people didn’t believes in them. They made the missionaries lived in Evil Forest. The missionaries moved from the village. After all, they lives in the Evil Forest.

The evil forest Umuofian people called the valley of dead. The Evil Forest is the head of egwugwu. They believes that there was an Evil. This is where sick man are taken. Twin are killed and left there. No one is allowed to built there. This is where the missionaries were lived.
Nwoye Nwoye is Okonkwo’s son. He is the eldest son of Okonkwo. Nwoye’s looks like his grandfather. He didn’t want to help his father. All he wanted is play and eat. He sometimes acting like a woman. He never forgive all about his father.
Mr. brown He was the first missionary to Umuofia. He was the successor of the Reverend. He was different kind of man. He’s willing to make a different. He respect the Igbo’s belief. He built a school in Umuofia. And also he built a hospital there.
enoch Enoch, the son of the snake priest. He killed the sacred python. He was the one who started a conflict. Enoch figures as a double for Okonkwo. They are similar in temperature. Enoch feels above all others in his tradition. He allows his violent desires over.
James smith James is a Reverend in Umuofia. He is the one who replaced Mr.Brown. And was the head of the christian church. Reverend Smith is strict and compromising. He was the opposite of Mr.Brown. He sees things as a black and white. He’s intolerant and disrespectful of Igbo’s beliefs.
The district commissioner Is an official appointed by the English. He is the highest official. They are the people who maintain laws. And they order in the colonies. They wanted to make the Umuofia happy. They respected their laws. They wanted to make changes in Umuofia.
