What do we mean by more able pupils? G & T Children in top 10 – 15% of core academic subjects (currently reading, writing, maths and science) Contextual – other schools Many ways of providing provision for more able – Challenge / Thinking Skills
Challenge is NOT an extension activity for the most able group

Learning Grids Teachers create a 6 X 6 grid with pictures and / or key words for a particular topic. Students work in pairs to roll two dice to locate a particular square which they use to stimulate their writing or as a way to practice a particular skill. Higher level students may roll their dice again to find a second square which they then use with the first to find a common link or compare and contrast.
Heirarchy Use ranking linear, diamond, pyramid, to order key aspects of a concept E.g. The best way to live a healthy lifestyle.
