Martin MATH 6A – PER 2 & 5 SCIENCE/HEALTH – PER 4 & 6 B-Read Math Triumphs Math Intervention Period 3 DO NOW ACTIVITY Use your flash cards to test your partner on Academic Vocabulary being used in this math lesson. Make the Story Problem organizer and highlight a problem to share with the class. Use flash cards to test your partner on Academic Vocabulary that you are presently using in this Health lesson. Make flash cards that show the academic vocabulary in this lesson. Make sure you have the word on one side and the definition on the other side of the card. LANGUAGE OBJECTIVE SWBAT compute the range on a line plot using academic vocabulary: statistics, data, line plot, cluster, outlier, range, analyze. SWBAT understand how personal health is important to a healthy life which includes maintenance of basic body functions using academic vocabulary: astigmatism, cavity, cuticle, decibels, dermatologist, farsightedness, melanin, nearsightedness. Students will understand how to identify and represent on a number line decimals using the academic vocabulary: decimal, compare, and order. STANDARDS By the end of the week, students will be able to understand how additional data added to data sets may affect these computations. By the end of the week, students will know how to manage their personal health and how it is important to use good personal products, visit the doctor, optometrist, and dental professions each year. By the end of the week, students will know how to compare and order positive and negative decimals and place them on a number line. ESSENTIAL QUESTION Why is it important to know how to put data on a chart or a graph? Why is it important to know the state of your Personal Health? Why is it important to be able to compare and order decimals? HOMEWORK Do Problems 1 to 20, page 398 and 399. Do problems 1 to 17, page 405 to 406. Do CPM Section 6.1.1 and 6.1.2 Do Chapter 4, lesson 1-4 and copy answers and questions. Do Chapter 4 workbook, pages 21 to 27. Make foldable on page 85 and write/define academic vocabulary on it. How do you maintain your Personal Health Complete Lesson 4-3, Compare and Order Decimals, problems 1 to 39, pages 83 to 87. Copy the academic words and define them on a card and test your partner each day. TEST Your test will be Means, Median and Mode test. Your test will be Chapter 4 Assessment, questions 1 – 20 on page 112. Your test will be Chapter 4 Progress Check 2, problems 1 to 10, page 88. SPECIAL EVENTS I do report cards on 10 Feb 2016. Extra credit: Perform the 4th scenario from the Health video tape with other students.
