Assignment 2 (20%) (ORAL PRESENTATION Task Description This is a group activity and work in group of four. Invent a new product which is not in the market yet, or the product can be altered or modified from the existing ones. 20/8/2011

Draw the product on a ‘mahjong’ paper or on the slide to be shown during your slide show. Prepare a presentation and make it as interesting as possible to attract audience to buy your product. 20/8/2011

Use audio visual aids (AVA) such as PowerPoint in your presentation. During the presentation, convince the audience to buy your product by describing its features and advantages. 20/8/2011

Each group member must deliver an equal portion of the oral presentation. Each group member will be given a 5-minute timeslot in which to do an oral presentation of your group's work. 20/8/2011

Videotape your group’s presentation and save it in AVI or WMV format. The presentation must be sent to PPL in CD form with the hard copy of your power-point slides by Week 12 (20th April 2012) 20/8/2011

Your presentation should include: The introduction – greeting, introduction of product. How the product works The materials used Who the target consumers are The features and advantages of the product The company’s marketing plan for the product Conclusion 20/8/2011

FORMAT OF PRESENTATION Introduction-greetings and introduction of topic Body – descriptions and elaborations of the topic Conclusion Each group presentation should not exceed 15 minutes. 20/8/2011

EVALUATION Marks will be awarded for:- Content Delivery Pronunciation Intonation Language Non-verbal strategies AVA 20/8/2011

MARKS All group members will be awarded the same marks for the AVA and content of the presentation. Each group member will be evaluated individually for delivery and language. 20/8/2011

(The date of exam will be fixed by the PJJ Office) EXAM FORMAT FINAL EXAM (30%) – 40 Multiple choice questions The final exam is divided into 4 sections. You will be tested on the following format: Section A – Reading Comprehension (2 texts) Section B – Cloze Passage Section C – Grammar Section D - Vocabulary Duration : 1 ½ hours (The date of exam will be fixed by the PJJ Office) 20/8/2011
