Sophomore Winter Guidance Presentation 2016 Course selection Process, 1 on 1 Advisement
Plan for Today Discuss the course selection process Look ahead to junior / senior year and beyond Reminder – Keep moving on your College & Career Readiness Project (CCRP)
Course selection process Things you need to consider. Colleges & technical/trade schools like to see a challenging schedule. Are honors or AP level courses right for you? You will not be able to change courses next year. What electives interest you or will help you investigate careers / majors? View the “program of studies” on the Guidance Dept. website for class descriptions
Course Selection Process Have a conversation with your parents about what you want to take junior year and what implications that will have on college admissions and careers. Your counselor will meet with you in Feb/March to review your courses and make sure they are the best fit for your future plans.
