Diane Moore, GT Specialist for Chandler Elementary 4th Grade AIM Diane Moore, GT Specialist for Chandler Elementary Welcome Students participate and develop an Independent Research Model aligned with TEA (Texas Performance Standards Project). The projects, or “tasks,” are based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and focus on the foundation content areas of English language arts and reading, mathematics, science, and social studies with interdisciplinary connections. Pamela.Moore@allenisd.org 469-467-1400 ext. 5234 Curriculum TPSP Project The 4th grade AIM students will have the benefit of participating in the Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP). The TPSP gives students a framework for successfully completing an independent research project. These TEKS-based projects are cross-curricular, with components from English language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science.  Each TPSP project targets two phases of implementation: Phase I presents developmental and instructional lessons using advanced content and a discipline-based research model to gain an understanding of the background knowledge for the task. Phase II provides an opportunity to delve into independent research. Students will synthesize learning, apply knowledge to a novel situation, and provide an advanced, high quality demonstration of their knowledge. www.texaspsp.org/ Class Times Friday The 4th grade AIM students will meet every Friday. We will begin AIM the second week of school. If possible, please try to schedule Dr. appointments on another day.
