Animal Cells

Animal cells are found in humans, our pets, wild animals, zoo animals… ALL Animals!

All animals cells are round. All animal cells have different parts inside of them . These parts of the cells have individual jobs.

Cell Membrane Cytoplasm Nucleus Nucleolus Nuclear Membrane Ribosomes Vacuole Golgi Body Mitochondria

Parts of an Animal Cell Cell Membrane: gel holds and protects the cell; also allows things to enter and exit the cell Nucleus: controls the cell—the brain of the cell Vacuoles: stores waste, food, water Mitochondria: stores/ produces energy for the cell Cytoplasm: allows the parts of a cell to move around

Plant Cells

All plant cells are rectangular. Plant cells are very similar to animal cells These parts of the cells have individual jobs.

Cytoplasm Cell Wall Cell Membrane Vacuole Nucleus Nucleolus Nuclear Membrane Ribosomes Chloroplast Golgi Body Mitochondria

All other parts of the plant are the same as an animal cell Parts of a Plant Cell Cell Wall: surrounds the cell Chloroplast: has chlorophyll (a chemical) inside; where plants make their food Vacuoles: stores waste (In plants, there is only ONE LARGE vacuole All other parts of the plant are the same as an animal cell
