All Proper Nouns must start with a capital letter. Your name starts with a capital letter. Your name is a Proper Noun.

STOP president smith will leave washington, d.c. in january.

A noun can name one thing, or it can name more than one thing. Another name for just one of something is singular.

Another name for more than one thing is plural. Plural nouns name more than one person, place, or thing.

All of these are plural nouns. cars pencils pigs books cups computers

All you do to make most nouns plural is add the letter s to the end of the word.

But some nouns already end in s, or ss. They need an es at the end to make them plural. bus = buses dress = dresses

STOP Make these words plural. recess pass mess

For nouns that end in ch, sh, or x, you also have to add es to make them plural. lunch = lunches

STOP Make these nouns plural. wish fox bunch

There are some nouns that you dont use s or es, instead you spell the word a new way, like this: foot = feet

STOP Make these nouns plural. tooth child woman man

Remember: Nouns name people, places and things.
