Watercolours of Paul Klee Lesson 2

Paul Klee was a Swiss artist who was born in 1879 and died in 1940. He developed his very own style of painting and admired the art work of children because they freely created art without worrying about a particular style. Paul Klee experimented with the use of colour, simple shapes and lines to show detail in his paintings

Paul Klee experimented with the use of colour, simple shapes and lines to show detail in his paintings. On a trip to Tunisia in 1914 he was impressed by the quality of the light he found there and how vivid and bright the colours were. This greatly influenced his work as he used bright colours in his watercolours of Tunisia.
