Hillside Montessori students tour Lagrange, Georgia Hello to our friends in the Philippines!
This is our town square. The statue is of marquis de lafayette, a french explorer who visited here in 1825 and thought it reminded him of his home in france.
First Presbyterian Church Many of the students at Hillside Montessori first went to school here at First Presbyterian Montessori. This church was built in 1829. We stopped by for a photo while on our walking tour of LaGrange last week.
A fire hydrant This student decided to hug a fire hydrant while on our walk. He says, “Firefighters hook their hose up to the fire hydrant and it sucks out the water from the pipes underground. This is how they put out fires.”
This is a pharmacy, gift store, and ice cream shop This is a pharmacy, gift store, and ice cream shop. People with prescriptions for their doctors come to pick up medicine. The ice cream shop looks like an old fashioned soda fountain.
A curbside trash can People who live within the city limits use the city sanitation service. Each household gets a trashcan like this, and once per week the sanitation crew comes to pick up the trash. Within the last year, they have also started a curbside recycling collection. Now, residents can choose to recycle plastic, aluminum, paper, and cardboard through the sanitation department.
Each year, this tree is displayed by our town square to celebrate christmas.
