Joy to the world

22nd December 2013: 4th Sunday of Advent

Gospel: Matthew Ch. 1: 18 – 24

The last Sunday before Christmas Day

Mary, unmarried, woman, is pregnant and Joseph the husband of Mary is confused what to do.

V. 20 an angel of the Lord appeared to him… and Joseph

Then Joseph married Mary as the angel had told him to do.

Joseph obeyed God’s message through the angel and when the baby was born he named Him Jesus.

It was difficult for Mary and Joseph to believe the angels’ messages.

We also, sometimes have our own doubts.

We must make an act of Faith for whatever is in the Gospel We must make an act of Faith for whatever is in the Gospel. That is the truth.

Look at the Crib and make an act of faith: This child is the son of God who accepted to be born,

to become man, to die for me and save me.

This Lady in the Crib is Mary the Mother of Jesus, my Mother.

This man is Joseph, husband of Mary, who believed in the message of the angel and accepted Mary as his wife.

Come, Emmanuel (Jesus with us) make your dwelling place (your house) our hearts and homes. Be with us always.
