For every assessment, you have to enter, submit and analyse data. When you teach 19 classes of 30 students, that is a MUCH harder task than it sounds. That’s approximately 570 assessments. Every six weeks.

Add to that: YEAR 7 DRAMA Add to that: keeping track of all the homeworks you set; ensuring you include literacy / numeracy / oracy tasks; differentiating for a whole host of students with different learning needs; trying to keep track of where everyone is within the schemes in order to be able to assess them all in time; JUST TRYING TO REMEMBER EVERYBODY’S NAME! How can you stay on top of 570 students’: YEAR 7 DRAMA In the penultimate week of every half-term, I have to run nineteen assessments back-to-back. How can you stay on top of 570 students’: Grades DIRT marking Self-assessment Peer-assessment Recording their work Providing the technical provision they need (lights, sound etc.)

So in one 60 minute lesson they have: Performed; Been assessed; YEAR 7 DRAMA The students then get given their grades, time to reflect / DIRT mark and the opportunity to grade themselves in relation to my grade on a pre-prepared sheet. So in one 60 minute lesson they have: Performed; Been assessed; Received peer feedback; Recorded it; Received their grade; DIRT marked / reflected; Self-assessed.
