Figure 6. Categories of pha-siRNA-yielding genes Categories and total number of pha-siRNA-producing genes in each category are shown. Based on BLASTX and BLASTN searches categories can be further specified as containing protein coding sequences (black text), uncharacterized sequences (blue text), and non-protein coding sequences (red text). Specific subcategories include the following: Auxin: represents genes that encode Auxin-related proteins, including Auxin Response Factors (ARF) and Auxin Signaling F-box. NBS: represents genes that encode NBS-LRR disease resistant genes; TF: represents genes that encode transcription factors, including MYB and bHLH. Other proteins: represents genes that encode other proteins, including kinases and ATPases. Hypothetical: represents genes that encode unknown protein products; ITS/ETS: represents genes that encode ribosomal internal/external transcribed spacers (ITS/ETS); Repeat: genes that are derived from repeat sequences; TAS3: Arabidopsis TAS3-homologs; Uncharacterized: represents genes that are not homologue any known genes or proteins
