Round character:They are complex and undergo development, sometimes sufficiently to surprise the reader. The author tells us exactly what changes

Dynamic character: The traits of a dynamic character are not described outright. Rather, his traits are referred to as they change over time.

Flat character: They are two-dimensional in that they are relatively uncomplicated and do not change throughout the course of a work.

Protagonist: The main character in a story, often a good or heroic type.

Antagonist: The person or force that works against the hero of the story. They are typically evil or villainous.

Foil: that shows qualities that are in contrast with the qualities of another character with the objective to highlight the traits of the other character. The term foil, though generally being applied for a contrasting character, may also be used for any comparison that is drawn to portray a difference between two things.

Hyperbole: A purposeful exaggeration for emphasis or humor.

ALLITERATION: The repetition of initial consonant sounds used especially in poetry to emphasize and link words as well as to create pleasing, musical sounds.

Onomatopoeia: The use of words that imitate sounds Onomatopoeia: The use of words that imitate sounds. Examples would be hiss, buzz, swish, and crunch.

Personification: This refers to human qualities attributed to an animal, object, or idea. “The wind exhaled.”

Mood: The feeling a piece of literature is intended to create in a reader.

Moral: The lesson a story teaches

Assure: to put someone’s mind at ease ensure: to make something happen or make certain insure: refers to insurance

CaN: refers to ability may: used to ask formal permission

Compliment: this is a statement of praise complement: something that fills something up or makes something complete

Discreet: refers to careful and patient discrete: means separate or distinct form the rest

Farther: refers to distance FURTHER: means greater in quality, time, or extent

Fewer: this is used for counting items Less: This is used for non-counting items.
