HOW YOU EARN FLIGHT CARDS Student Expectations HOW YOU EARN FLIGHT CARDS

Dress Code No costume apparel No crop tops Ears, tails, capes, gloves, etc. No crop tops No hoods or hats in the hallways No excessive or inappropriately placed holes in pants No blankets No pajamas No inappropriate references Students MUST wear shoes in the hallways

Cell Phones and Headphones Neither are to be visible in the hallways May be used in the cafeteria or outside BEFORE school, DURING LUNCH, and AFTER school ONLY, but should be put away before entering the hallway To be confiscated (no warnings!!) if they are seen Confiscated items are turned into the main office and logged 1st offense: student pick up 2nd offense: parent pick up 3rd offense: student/parent contract Cannot be out during assemblies CELL PHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED OUT IN ANY CLASSROOM Headphones are allowed for laptops with teacher permission

Hallways Students should: Walk on the RIGHT side of the hallway Enter doorways through the right Use the right side of the stairs going up and down Use the restroom/get water during passing period Not congregate in the center of the hall. Keep moving and get to class.

Physical Contact No hand holding No kissing No excessive hugging No neck slapping No pushing No flicking No pulling on backpacks

Assembly Behavior 100% Timeout is REQUIRED Teachers, please reiterate this expectation consistently No talking when presenters are talking No electronics Enter, exit, and sit with your grade level team If we cannot meet these expectations, assemblies will be cancelled and students will return to class

FLIGHT Cards Students can be recognized for exhibiting each flight characteristic. Students who demonstrate the characteristic on the card CONSISTENTLY can be rewarded with a flight card. Each teacher will personalize the card by writing a message to the student explaining where and how/why s/he received the card Cards need to be kept by the student—they will not be replaced! Once a student receives all 6 letters, they will be inducted onto the FLIGHT CREW at the next assembly.

Caught ya’ tickets Can be earned in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, assemblies when a teacher sees a student exhibiting a FLIGHT characteristic. FLIGHT Crew FLIGHT Crew Members get to: Be a leader in your school! Receive first priority for the Gold Crown Field Trips in the Fall and Spring Celebrate the end of the quarter with special excursion trips on our half days (bowling, swimming, skating, mini golfing, laser tag, etc.) Earn a T-shirt and other Carson Gear! Put a F.L.I.G.H.T. Crew sticker on your laptop! Give tours to new students! Have a voice in school decision-making! Be part of our assemblies! Be part of a special access class that earns more perks …And so much more!
