Introduction We are a team of 5 and are looking into the topic of “Starting Our Own Business”. We are here today to discuss and showcase our research & findings and our business ideas that the 5 of us have concluded.

Reasons for this topic Knowledge: Characteristics of an Entrepreneur. Considerations when starting a business. Basics of business financial calculations. Skills: Application of project learning skills such as observation, case studies, information gathering and evaluation. Development of generic skills: communication, collaboration, IT skills, data manipulation skills, critical thinking and creativity. Attitude: From the view point of customers, build a business to meet their needs.

Research & Findings We will now showcase our Research & Findings, dive more in-depth into these topics and show the extent of our analytic abilities. i. Questionnaire ii. Site Visits iii. Floor Planning iv. Financial Data

Questionnaire We have gathered information online, went through a huge series of thought processes on our customer’s wants and needs, and have came up with a questionnaire. We have interviewed 20 students within our school campus and have came up with a conclusion that a vast majority of the interviewed students considered that the quality was the biggest concern they had when buying food.

Site Visits We have made a site visit at the location, as well as researched online the how big the area is for our business, and have designed a floor plan for our business to run.

Floor Planning The property has a 200 sq ft with a usable area of a 100 sq ft. All information was gathered on site and online by the property agent. Thought thoroughly & specifically. Easy for customers.

Floor Planning

Financial Data All information and data was gathered online & based on our speculations on how to sustain our business. Rent -$18000 Expenses (entertainment, utilities, postage, stationery) -$4000~5000 Stock Estimated Revenue +$30000~35000 Workers Shared

Conclusion Hard to develop a business mindset – entrepreneur, skills? Lots of calculations to estimate and predict. Satisfy \ control our customers, how to attract & make earnings. Location of area – crowded area? Busy hours? Floor planning – Convenient for workers / customers? Easy to handle?

Reflection Overall thoughts on “Starting a Business” – Hard? Easy? Data collection & accounting management – How to handle? Hardest struggle? – Which factor? Capable of running a solid business? – Would we be successful?
