Geology Geologist- a scientist that studies the earth and the materials on it Rocks Igneous Sedimentary Metamorphic Minerals Tectonic Cycle Natural Resources

LIMITED RESOURCES A natural resource that will eventually run out or will limit the abundance of a population

NONRENEWABLE RESOURCES A natural resource that cannot be re-made or re-grown at a scale comparable to its consumption.

NUCLEAR ENERGY Nuclear fission uses uranium to create energy. Once the uranium is used, it is gone!

Fossil Fuels Coal, petroleum, and natural gas are considered nonrenewable because they can not be replenished in a short period of time.

Organic- derived from living things Synthetic- man-made substance that imitates a natural resource Examples: Charcoal, Bricks
