English-Speaking Countries: America American Manners English-Speaking Countries: America

Getting Started: What does it mean to have “good manners” in a culture? How do our manners affect relationships and interactions? Why are manners different from culture to culture? What do you already know about American manners?

Today We’ll Look At: Table Manners… Manners for Visiting Someone’s Home… Manners For Interacting with Others… And a Few Others…

Role Playing! It’s time to practice our manners and have some fun! Make a group of 3-5 people. Everyone must join a group and take part in this activity. Choose one of the 5 aspects of manners we talked about today.

Role Playing! 3. With your group, prepare a short (2-3 minute) role play. Your role play should show us some people using the correct manners and some people using incorrect ones. 4. This is just to help us remember the manners and have some fun! There will be prizes for the best ones!
