MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR LEADERSHIP NOTEBOOK Character Strong MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR LEADERSHIP NOTEBOOK

PERSONALITY vs. CHARACTER Our dominant personality trait, according to experts, is set by the time we are six years old. Our secondary personality traits can change over time. For the most part, we’re born with it (environment and nurturing making contributions, no doubt). Our character is something quite different. Character is a series of choices we make throughout our day and our life. We build our character. Personality is a gift at birth. Character is built each day by our choices. What we do with the gift of our personality will be determined by our choices, by our character. PERSONALITY vs. CHARACTER “People don’t see the world in the same way. We’re different and that is ok!”

MLK JR. VS. HITLER EXAMPLE We are all responsible for our character at some point through the choices that we make everyday.

MLK JR. VS. HITLER EXAMPLE PERSONALITY IS A…. GIFT SET BY.. AGE 6. MLK JR. VS. HITLER EXAMPLE We are all responsible for our character at some point through the choices that we make everyday.

PRACTICE ASSESSMENT YOU WILL BE ASSESSED ON YOUR ABILITY TO KNOW AND EXPLAIN EACH ONE OF THE FOUR STAGES OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

TOMORROW: THE REAL DEAL STUDY TIPS Use flashcards: Many students benefit by creating flashcards. On one side of a card, write definitions or other facts, and on the opposite side, write the word or topic.
