What is a participle? It is either the main verb in a sentence OR A verb acting like an adjective SAY WHAT? The crying baby wanted his mother. The baby was crying for his mother.
Past or Present? The participle can be in either tense. The dog has jumped for the cookies. The dog is jumping for the cookies.
