Figure 1 Alternative Routes and Locales for Antibody Affinity Maturation Top: In a conventional T cell-dependent response, B cells activated by avid BCR engagement receive cognate T cell help and form GCs, where their interactions with FDCs and Tfh enable rounds of somatic hypermutation and selection that yield high-affinity plasma and memory B cells.
