DENSITY. Density is the measure of mass per unit volume of substance. So, density is a measure of the amount of matter (particles) in a given volume (space)
Density. Different substances have different densities. The density of a material does not depend on the size or amount of the substance you have. Density.
Density Mass per unit volume. Density  Density is the amount of matter in an object divided by the volume  D=M/V If each box has the same volume and.

“how to” DESIGN LAB A beginning breakdown.

How does the amount of playdoh affect the density of playdoh? Research Question

Independent Variable: Amount of playdoh Dependent Variable: Density of playdoh If I decrease the amount of playdoh, then the density of the playdoh will remain the same because density is an intensive property of matter which is not affected by the amount of a substance. hypothesis

Manipulating variables Independent Variable: Amount of playdoh Trial 1: 2.0g Trial 2: 1.0 g Trial 3: 0.5 g Trial 4: 0.25 g After each trial we will use a knife to cut the playdoh in half. Dependent Variable: Density of playdoh In order to measure the density of the playdoh we will have to take the mass of the playdoh using a graduated cylinder and then find the volume using a graduated cylinder. We will divide these two value (mass/volume) to calculate the density. Units: g/mL Manipulating variables

Should be specific (as in someone else could follow these exactly) Should tell the reader how to repeat Use previous labs from this semester as an example (all can be found on the website) Example) Next find the volume of the playdoh by dropping it into the graduated cylinder containing 20mL of water. Procedures
