Mindfulness saraid to do AKA concentration -The cultivation of moment-by-moment awareness of our surrounding environment is a practice that helps us better cope with the difficult thoughts and feelings that cause us stress and anxiety in everyday life. With regular practice of mindfulness exercises, rather than being led on auto-pilot by emotions influenced by negative past experiences and fears of future occurrences, we harness the ability to root the mind in the present moment and deal with life’s challenges in a clear-minded, calm, assertive way. www.PESA.edu.au © PESA 2018

Growth Mindset Maths Mindsets Survey Anyone can learn Mathematics to the highest levels. I was born with a 'Maths Brain'. That's why i'm good at Mathematics. There is often more than one way to correctly solve a problem in Mathematics. I am okay with making mistakes in Mathematics. Mistakes are important. I find myself in the learning pit often in Mathematics lessons. I believe creativity is part of Mathematics. Maths should be fun. I enjoy completing open ended tasks with more than one correct answer. Working in teams is an important part of Mathematics. Having an awareness that we all have fixed mindsets but can shift to a growth mindsets More energising to have a growth mindset in some things than others. accepting when you are in the dip and a fixed mindset is taking over. considering the self talk that helps get you out of the dip/fixed mindset. www.PESA.edu.au © PESA 2018

Growth Mindset What activities promote a growth mindset? www.PESA.edu.au © PESA 2018

The strengths that can get me out of the dip Make a growth mindset poster. ‘I can’ poster Identify people who have demonstrated a growth mindset When my growth mindset helped me. www.PESA.edu.au © PESA 2018
