Limited Seats Only Calling all parents of Jurong West Primary School pupils. Generations of parents have faced the age-old challenge of helping children grow into responsible adults. Yet children will always challenge authority to see where their boundaries lie. This talk will encourage parents and equip them with tools for firm yet loving discipline. In this talk, parents will:  Understand the definition and goals of discipline  Identify their own parenting and discipline styles  Gain practical discipline tips Speakers: Cheryl Ng currently serves as Principal Trainer with Focus on the Family Singapore and speaks on family life across the genres of parenting, marriage, work-life, youth and relationships. Specifically, she is Master Trainer for Parenting with Confidence and helms media interviews in both English and Mandarin. Believing that children are the future and family the nurturing ground, Cheryl dedicated the early part of her career to pursuing her childhood dream of teaching in junior colleges, before switching her attention to bringing up her own children. Today, she continues to touch the lives of numerous teenagers as an adjunct lecturer at a polytechnic. Cheryl was appointed by the Minister as a steering committee member of the Parents Advisory Group for the Internet (PAGI) from 2000 to 2004, and thereafter served on the Publications Consultative Panel followed by the Media Literacy Council. She continues to volunteer with the Film Censorship Panel of the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI). To uphold the interests of children and families, Cheryl has discussed her work on internet safety in public seminars, radio talk shows and on TV. In fact, she was featured with her family in a television educational docu-drama.
