STATE OF READINESS FOR THE PLANTING SEASON
PURPOSE Update the Phezukomkhono Mlimi (PKM)/ Fetsa tlala state of readiness for the 2018/19 planting season
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME The purpose of the programme is to increase community food production so as to attain household food security, especially for the poor and vulnerable households through the following: Provide mechanization services and production inputs in support of fetsa tlala or address household food insecurity Implement the special Amakhosi food production programme Provide mechanization services in support of strategic commodities in the province Provide Extension and Advisory Services through demonstrations, farmers ‘ and information days, functional commodity support (study groups) and study groups Provide mentorship and training to the crop producers (land reform) Link crop producers with market
