Waste Disposals During 2016/17, 174 containers of Low Level Waste were processed for emplacement in Vaults at LLWR. If no diversion had taken place the indicative number of containers that would have needed to be disposed was an additional ~1200* Disposal now being managed against a lifetime capacity with short term (annual) triggers, none of which have been flagged. Vault 9 remained in use for storage. * Based on 20m3 / LLW container with no packing efficiency losses included 3,855 te Via framework total: 1236te M 3,098 m3 Via framework total: 2957 m3 C 14,645 m3* Via framework total: 5568m3 V 174 containers Total received at LLWR only L 2,903m3 WAMAC receipts only S Summary Data - FY 2016/17 Metallic Waste Combustible Waste Very Low Level Waste Supercompactable Waste Low Level Waste 15 January 2019

Ongoing Disposals Small number of issues with waste being consigned outside LLWR Waste Acceptance Criteria during 2017 – No operational safe issue. EA reviewing consignors Short duration Non Radioactive permit discharge volume exceedance (~85l/s cf 75/s). No environmental consequence. EA informed. Repository capping work sanctioned, first planning conditions requirement submitted and initial work due to start 2018. Open day for local stakeholder held in October. 15 January 2019
