What? An adverb clause is a subordinate clause that modifies a verb, an adjective, or an adverb An adverb clause tells how, when, why, what, OR under what condition

Some Examples Miss K looks as if she has died. (The adverb clause modifies the verb sounds, telling how Miss K looks) Before they left, they took their cell phones from the pockets.
