Agenda Item 9: Short-term economic statistics in NMEs Non-Member Economies Agenda Item 9: Short-term economic statistics in NMEs

NME Data Collection Approximately 850 short-term economic statistical series’ are published monthly for six NMEs (Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, the Russian Federation ,and South Africa). New series are constantly being sourced and added, normally after country consultation

New Country’s Future work will be undertaken on computing Unit Labour Cost Indicators for the 8 EU Member States that are not part of OECD e.g. Slovenia, Estonia…, and possibly the six NMEs. Numerous data requests from users of economic data for comparable STES data on non-OECD countries e.g. Singapore, Chile....

Cooperation In the last year cooperation with most of the NMEs has increased greatly. Now at the point where we can discuss directly with the NSO data comparability issues e.g. SPPY. This is seen as the best way forward.
