Aim of the Clean Clothes Campaign To improve working conditions in the global garment and sportswear industry and empower the workers in it.

What is the Clean Clothes Campaign? The CCC is an international campaign, with European chapters. There is a Clean Clothes Campaign in 15 European countries. These are Austria, Belgium (North and South), Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Over 250 different organisations participate in the campaign worldwide.

CCC’s main objectives and activities Citizens’ awareness raising and mobilisation Workers solidarity action Pushing for corporate responsibility Legal and governmental lobbying

Raising awareness Direct action

Solidarity: Close cooperation Urgent appeals

Women suffer disproportionately Special attention to the rights of women workers

Migrants are especially vulnerable Developing strategy around the situation of migrant workers

- Living Wage is a critical issue and the focus of much CCC campaign work - Asian Floor Wage

National level CCC coalitions Consist of mix of NGOs and unions Accept CCC principles and core areas of work Autonomous: activities and funding Nationally: members have common plans and goals, provide secretariat Internationally: report to International Secretariat, cooperate with other national coalitions, contribute to international working groups / steering committees
