UN Disaster Risk Management project with MARD Supporting national efforts for an improved DRM structure in Vietnam Ha Noi, 6 January 2009

DRM project: main features Title: Strengthening institutional capacity for Disaster Risk Management in Viet Nam, including Climate Change related disasters Project implementation time: Oct. 2009 – Dec.2011 Budget: 4,000,000 usd (UNDP) 250,000 (MARD) Pilot provinces: Binh Thuan, Can Tho and Cao Bang

DRM project: Outcomes & Outputs Outcome 1: Strengthen the DRM knowledge in support of the formulation of policies, regulations and plans Output 1.2: National guidelines for emergency response Output 1.3: Links between poverty and vulnerability (2010) Output 1.1: Implementation of National Strategy Outcome 2: Strengthen institutional structures and capacity for DRM Output 2.1: DRM coordination and EWARs Output 2.2: Design DRM Centre/offices (1+3) Output 2.3: Establish DRM Centre/offices (1+3) Output 2.4: Strengthen DRM capacities (capacity assessment, trainings and DANA)
