Decade Dancing The Charleston

What was dancing like in the 1920’s?

You try it! Stand up at your desk and follow the steps! You might just be really good at it!

Why was the Charleston so popular in the 1920’s? The 1920’s are referred to as the “Roaring Twenties”. The economy was thriving and people wanted to break tradition and dance! Nearly 100 years ago…people didn’t “Nae- Nae” or “Cupid Shuffle”, they did the Charleston instead!

Questions to consider: What do the “nae-nae” dance and the Charleston have in common? How are they different? 2. Describe the music from the 1920’s. How is it different than the music we have today? How is it the same?
