The Story of the Bus The bus was to be destroyed and dumped in the river. The company records were also to be destroyed and have indeed been lost.

Saved from the River Roy “Hubert” Summerford bought 2 busses from the Montgomery Bus Lines One was bus #2857 which workers remembered as the one Jimmy Blake drove. The bus went to Summerford’s farm where it was used for storage for 30 years. Summerford told everyone that he had the Rosa Parks bus Hubert Summerford died in 1985
