Homework: Look at your local community. What community areas do you have that can bring your community together e.g. Church, community hall etc. Your community is part of the Plymouth community. Add the community areas that Plymouth as a whole has. As discussed in previous lessons someone has to make decisions for a community. Who makes decisions for Plymouth (local government) and where are problem/disputes settled (law/courts) in Plymouth.

Last week we looked at your community and the Plymouth community, our focus this term is going to be the British community. You will produce a presentation which will be titled ‘What does it mean to be British’. These will be displayed in school. Each week I will give you a task to do and you will add this or what you learn from the task to your presentation. This week you have to ask 5 family members what they think it means to be British. Print off table on next slide for students to use.
