PLAYING CHESS WITH THE DEVIL

PLAYING CHESS WITH THE DEVIL

PLAYING CHESS WITH THE DEVIL

SATAN: A CHESS MASTER Many underestimate Satan’s ability to play the game of human chess. God does not underestimate the ability of Satan. 1Peter 5:8-9; Eph. 6:11 Today we need to seek the help of God in all matters of life. Matt. 6:33; James 4:7-8

THE WINNER IN A GAME OF LIFE AND DEATH IS GOD. THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR SOULS DOES NOT HAVE TO COME ABOUT.

PLAYING CHESS WITH THE DEVIL The Winner in a Game of Death The picture here is called "The Game of Death,“. In it a young man is represented as playing chess with the Devil. The Devil has apparently won the game by the position of the pieces. A noted chess player once went to see the picture, and after looking at it, he said, "I can save that fellow." He then explained how the chessmen should be moved to save the game. "That," said Dr. Stuart Holden, "is what Jesus Christ has done. He has in one move eternally checkmated death and the Devil, and snatched the prey from the mighty."—The Sunday Circle.

PLAYING CHESS WITH THE DEVIL GOD: THE ULTIMATE CHESS MASTER Many see the contention between God and Satan as a battle between two equally skilled chess masters. God is in charge of everything that happens. Since God has proven that he is unbeatable, we often wonder why Satan keeps challenging Him.

PLAYING CHESS WITH THE DEVIL GOD: THE ULTIMATE CHESS MASTER The only reason many believe that God and Satan are in a fair fight is because God has given us free will over our own actions and ultimately our own destiny. We can become winners in the life game of chess if we follow God’s will (Luke 22:31).

PLAYING CHESS WITH THE DEVIL We are often confronted by Satan and many times we fail miserably. We should always remember that God is in charge and will win the game. We should never forget that God has not left us alone on the chess board of life.

PLAYING CHESS WITH THE DEVIL It is when we fail to seek God’s counsel that we have failures and setbacks in life. Many people live as if they only need to acknowledge that God exists and thank him for prosperity in life; however we should also ask his guidance and counsel in all matters. We should never forget that God has not left us alone on the chess board of life.

PLAYING CHESS WITH THE DEVIL Finally we should remember that we have a Life Chess Champion in our lives. (1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV) – “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”.

PLAYING CHESS WITH THE DEVIL The Winner in a Game of Death There is a wonderful picture called "The Game of Death," in which a young man is represented as playing chess with the Devil. The Devil has apparently won the game by the position of the chessmen.
