Moving from individual to a whole network approach Rachel Bibby & Claire Arbery National STEM Learning Centre and Network
Background… Previously most SLPs have worked as stand-alone partnerships, planning their own programmes to meet local need Some SLPs have worked with neighbouring SLPs e.g. AGGS/HCCS/LJMU NQT conference; Reading and Furze Platt joint primary conference. With the absence of universal IAs, we need to think about a whole Network approach to ensure our programme meets needs when there is limited budget.
Background… We also need to consider the Universal Offer/complete portfolio that STEM Learning has to offer Dual role of CPD provider and brokerage We may not always be selling CPD, but we are acting as ‘the place to go’ for advice on other CPD opportunities.
The Universal Offer RCUK CES courses – generates income for the SLP e.g. Keele and Adfecto STEM Centre website and e-library TIPS TAPS TSSP – generates income for the SLP ESERO Enthuse Bursaries – Intensive Enthuse & Intensive Partner – generate income for the SLP Stimulating Physics Network Microbit project e.g. AGGS and Fiveways Looking at NSLC’s programme, look at how we can promote the intensive nature. Also, what CPD that they offer can we run locally as multi-sessions?
Your task… What steps would you take to ensure that all SLPs and RDLs are fully engaged with the whole Network approach? Consider this a) summer 2016 term b) longer term
