College Segue CP – CPA – HON will all prepare you to go to college. However, if you take more competitive coursework you can apply to more competitive colleges. Find the balance between challenge & success. Colleges want to see good grades in whatever classes you are taking. If you’re getting an “A” or “B” in your current level they you’re appropriately placed. You can always move up a level in the next year, so long as you meet the prerequisites. Every course & final grade is recorded on your transcript. CP = +0 …. CPA = +4 …. HON = +8 …. AP = +10. GPA boosts do not make up for a “C” or less. GPA boosts show up on your GPA … not the report card or the transcript.

SAMPLE SCHEDULING FORM (FRONT) Your middle school will fill out everything in red. “X” means you don’t meet the prerequisites for the course right now. “Circle” means this is the highest level class that you currently qualify for. Special ed supports (if any) are mandatory and driven by your IEP. You will complete everything in green. Fill in the academic courses that you want to take. You may select an easier course.

SAMPLE SCHEDULING FORM (BACK) You must complete the survey for every course offered. Each course will be marked as “very interested in taking”, “ok taking” or “prefer a different course”. Rank your “very interested” courses in order of preference. Return to your middle school. Come to your scheduling meeting with your High School Guidance Counselor.
