Mitosis Flashcards.
+ What are the main events of the cell cycle? Sections 8.4 thru 8.6.
The cell cycle Mitosis is only one section of the life cycle of a cell. Interphase is the main part of the cell cycle. This is where DNA is replicated.
KEY CONCEPT Cells divide during mitosis and cytokinesis.
What do they do? Stages What’s Going on? What is It?
Cell Division B-2.6 Summarize the characteristics of the cell cycle: interphase (called G1, S, G2); the phases of mitosis (called prophase, metaphase,
Cell Cycle All cells go through the cell cycle, some faster than others.
Mitosis Cell Division.
THE CELL CYCLE. Producing new BODY cells allows you to: 1. Grow 2. Replace dead cells Ex: Stomach so acidic that cells lining must be replaced every few.
Cells divide during mitosis and cytokinesis. Cells that make up the “body” of an organism 2.
Learning Objectives 1.Name the three stages of the cell cycle and explain what happens in each. 2.Explain what DNA is, and what its role is in cell division.

Presentation transcript:

Make a tiny mark about halfway down Materials per student: blank sheet of copy paper, scissors, colored pencils Make one yourself beforehand so you have an example to show, and because it will help you be more descriptive in your presentation. I also made one at the same time my students did, so I could hold it up in progress and reassure them. I also find it helpful to print this out for myself. Click print  under “Print what:” select Handouts  then in the Handouts box select 6 Slides per page.
