Big Picture To make our training more effective, we need to apply the PRINCIPLES OF TRAINING In today's session you are going to be working individually and in small groups to improve your understanding of the principles of training. You will be able to apply these to your PEP. Some individuals will be feeding back their work. 4

Learning Outcomes All pupils will be able to name and describe the 9 principles of training. Most pupils will explain how they have applied these to their Resistance Training PEP. Some pupils will explain how they can modify their training/PEP to apply the principles of training more effectively. 5

TASK 1 Recall as many of the principles of training as you can remember – Write them down. Read pages 50 - 55 of the GCSE book. Copy the names of each principle down 1 side of the paper. Working individually or in pairs, you need to put the book’s descriptions into 2 sentences of your own words (Be prepared to feedback). 6

TASK 3 – Demonstrating Understanding During external moderation, you will be asked questions based on principles of training. Prepare a script to put the example into your own words. 8
