Today’s Session Each year thousands of people are affected by emergencies and disasters. These catastrophic events can range anywhere from fires, floods, tornados, hurricanes, natural disasters as well as man-made. As a result, we often find that people with disabilities are disproportionately affected. This webinar will shed some light on the recent Hurricanes and how the aftermath has affected the disability, aging and other vulnerable populations. The Pass It On Center (PIOC), in collaboration with Portlight Strategies, Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies, as well as other national organizations have mobilized to coordinate matching, delivery, storage, transportation as well as the safe and appropriate reuse of assistive technology and durable medical equipment in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, US Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. Join us as we provide updates, successes, and lessons learned on these important efforts. Presenters will review the role of AT reuse within Emergency Management and how you and your program can effectively plan and be prepared!
