Payload Management System A overview on how to maximise the productivity & safety benefits of using the EarthTrack™ Payload Management System

Presentation Content EarthTrack™ Payload Management System Overview How the EarthTrack™ Payload Management System works in conjunction with OEM Trucks How the EarthTrack™ Payload Management System communicates between the excavator and truck The truck operator’s responsibilities when operating the Payload Management System Channel Selectors The excavator operator’s responsibilities to ensure correct load distribution and maximisation of load capacity How to correctly load the trucks for maximised load and safe transport

EarthTrack™ Payload Management System Overview When used correctly the EarthTrack™ Payload Management System can: PREVENT DAMAGE TO TRUCK CHASSIS’, TYRES AND SUSPENSION STRUTS HELP OPERATORS POSITION LOADS ONTO TRUCKS CORRECTLY REDUCES UNDER LOADING/MAXIMISE LOAD CAPACITIES MAXIMISE FLEET PRODUCTIVITY REDUCES MAINTENANCE COSTS The EarthTrack™ Payload Management System help your operators get the best load on the truck every time. The EarthTrack™ Payload Management System maximise your truck fleet’s efficiency and minimises maintenance costs.

How does it work in conjunction with OEM Trucks Note: only a temporary connection shown The EarthTrack™ Payload Management System interfaces directly into the Truck’s Payload Monitoring System (T.P.M.S.) with a simple Cannon military style plug. The system transmits data between the truck and loader/excavator, displaying the exact tonnage transferred from the loading machine to truck. Over loading and under loading of equipment is now a thing of the past. Connecting EarthTrack™ Payload Management System to Trucks OEM TPMS Interface transmitter location transmitter aerial location

How the EarthTrack™ Payload Management System detects the loading machine (excavators) with the truck to be loaded In a single pair excavator/truck loading setup the host loading machine (excavator) will automatically pick up the truck being loaded. If more than one loading machine is being used, the trucks can correspond between loaders by simply switching over to the desired loader by using a channel selector switch – this process is manually done by the operator. The operator reads the display load weight before loading onto the truck. Automatic detection Display the load weight for correct loading

The truck operator’s responsibilities when operation the EarthTrack™ Payload Management System The main task that the truck operator must perform is to select the correct excavator number that is about to load the truck. The truck should be on level ground when being loaded. The system will not operate if the on board payload system is not operative. The data gathering plugs must be plugged in. They can sometimes get disconnected for downloading data.

Channel Selectors All EarthTrack™ Payload Management System are pre-programmed with 8 channels. If more than one loading machine is on site, each loading machine must be designated it’s own channel. For example, excavator 1 = channel 1 on switcher…loader 2 = Channel 2 on switch, etc. 3 channel pictured Each truck will require a channel switcher to allow operators to communicate with the correct loading tool at the time of loading. It is most important that truck operators select the correct channel prior to being loaded. Failure to align the channels means the system will not communicate. 8 channel selector

The excavator operator’s responsibilities to ensure correct load distribution and maximisation of load capacity EXCAVATOR OPERATORS MUST LOAD EVENLY & MAXIMISE LOAD CAPACITY FOR SAFE TRANSPORT The EarthTrack™ Payload Management System inside the host loading machine displays weight and load distribution in the truck’s tray for gauging maximum load capacity: It alerts the operator if overloading on one side or on one particular corner. Green LED lights represent a light load, as the truck gets closer to full load capacity, the LED’s will indicate a Red signal. Monitor LED’s to ensure even load distribution Safe loads prevent accidents like this

A fully loaded truck, when loaded evenly will illuminate all LED’s How to correctly load the truck using the EarthTrack™ Payload Management System Operator should illuminate LED’s evenly when loading to get a safe distribution weight for transport Green LED’s indicate a light load weight, the operator needs to fill the right hand side, near the front of the tray for the load to be even. Red LED’s indicates a full load on the rear struts. The operator needs to load the front of the tray to make the green LED’s turn red to ensure a safe loading distribution which is safe for transport. A fully loaded truck, when loaded evenly will illuminate all LED’s
