FRQ Analysis (A.) = 1 point (B.) = 4 points (C.) = 1 point (D.) = 1 point 7 = 100% 5 = 86% 3 = 70% 1 = 54% 6 = 92% 4 = 78% 2 = 62% 0 = 46% General FRQ Comments: (A.) Scale. Needed to demonstrate impact/effect on entire world. Makes something worldwide. (B.) World economy not addressed. Lack of elaboration of idea, needed to “discuss” each impact. (C.) Had to at least address impact on receiving culture. (D.) Had to at least use or address an example of “social media” in response.

Things to consider for the next FRQ: (1.) Identify and follow the ACTION words in the question. “Define” and “discuss” mean totally different things. To “discuss” basically means to explain. Very seldom can you be awarded full points with one sentence when you are asked to “discuss” or explain something. (2.) Prewrite. College Board statistics indicate that, on average, students who write on their exams score higher than those who do not. (3.) Time management. Some students need to speed up. Others need to utilize the remaining time to look over their FRQ response. (4.) LENGTH! It is my belief that some students thought they were not allowed to write on the back of the FRQ answer sheet. (5.) Understand what you’re working against. FRQs, for the most part, are rights-only scored. This means you cannot lose points for saying wrong information; rather, you only GAIN points for a satisfactory response.
