Recipes

A well written recipe includes: Ingredients: the list of (food) items that will be used to make the dish. Presented in order in which they will be used. Prep: Pre-preparation steps that describe what should be done to an ingredient before it gets used. Ex: chopping an onion

A well written recipe includes: Instruction: Step-by-step directions explaining the cooking process. Equipment: A list of equipment that you will need to complete the dish. Temperature: What temperature you need to cook the dish and if preheating is necessary.

A well written recipe includes: Time: The time it will take you to cook or chill the food. Yield: The amount of food, or number of servings, the recipe makes.

How to double and half a recipe Take each ingredient and multiply it by 2 Take each ingredient and divide it by 2 You may have to change the unit up… For example: tbsp to tsp

Making an equipment list To make an equipment list: Read at each direction step separately Figure out what you would need to complete each step Compile one list of every piece of equipment/utensil that you need to complete the recipe
