Figure 1 Metaplasia between Connective Tissues Skin, including the dermal layer, was grafted from the limb of a triploid to a diploid axolotl. The limb was amputated through the graft and allowed to regenerate. Triploid cells are clearly visible in the cartilage of the regenerated limb.
