Presentation transcript:

English: Wednesday, November 7, 2018 Handouts: * “Creating Super Sentences . . .” Part 1 and Part 2 Homework: * Memorize the “Be Verbs” using our mnemonic  * Study “Be Verbs.” We will have a QUIZ tomorrow. * In-class: Finish “Creating Super Sentences, Parts 1 & 2” If you don’t finish in class, it becomes homework. 3. Assignments due: * Have you memorized the “Be Verbs”? Let’s find out! 

Lesson Goal: Learn to create super sentences by using a mnemonic to memorize “be verbs.” Outcomes: Be able to . . . Demonstrate your ability to recite the 23 “be verbs.” Identify passive “be verbs” in any given sentence. Explain how to change passive sentences (“passive voice”) to active sentences (“active voice”). Apply the method for changing passive sentences to active sentences.

Starter #1 Please take everything off from your desk, except for a pen. . . . Without any notes or handouts in front of you, I will let you review for our quiz in this way: How many of you would like to sing the “Be Verbs Lullaby” for our class? You may do this with friends if you wish. 

We will continue yesterday’s PP presentation: Creating Super Sentences Starter #2 Now that you have demonstrated your ability to recite/memorize the “be verbs,” let’s do a “search and destroy mission” with those be verbs! We will continue yesterday’s PP presentation: Creating Super Sentences
