Actively participate and try YOUR best on everything. 5. Be safe at all times and abide by all school rules and regulations. Expectations 25% 25% 25% 25% 20% Tests/Quizzes Projects Homework Classwork Consequences The grading scale of this class falls under the Coral Academy of Science Grading Scale. It is a point value system, with +/- scores. Parents and students are strongly encouraged to check the Infinite Campus on a weekly basis to view the most current grades for EVERY class. Extra Credit is rarely given, students should be working diligently to meet all assigned deadlines. 1. Warning: the teacher provides a verbal reprimand/reminder to student. 2. Lose Points/Seating Change: House points will be deducted from whole class, seat will be moved to avoid distractions. 3. Parent Contact/Office Referral: Parent will be contacted. Time to cool off in Mrs. Riley's office. 4. Parent Contact/Detention: A detention will be issued for the following Monday or Thursday. 5. Miss. Garlock/Saturday Detention: a student will be immediately referred to administration for severe behavior problems.

Mrs. Hedaria Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy Technology English 8th Mrs. Hedaria 2017-2018 Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy 2016-2017 My expectation is that ALL assignments be completed and turned in on time Parents will be contacted every time an assignment is late or receives lower than a 65%. Printer and Internet issues are not an excuse for late work. You can print at the library. Students have a 1 day grace period to turn in assignments, with a late work pink slip. This assignment will not earn above half credit. * YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT. * It is the student’s responsibility to check the class calendar, or website to determine what they missed. . * A student has two extra days to turn in any work assigned on a day a student was absent. Technology All teachers have a classroom website that contains information about classroom activities, parents and students are highly suggested to check this nightly to see the daily homework and to check for important updates. Infinite Campus is updated weekly, students and parents are highly suggested to check this weekly to see where a grade stands. If you have any questions about grades please email me at jhedaria@coralacademy.org. Computer access is used throughout class, we use Chromebooks to do some class work. I give extra credit if essays are typed, as most of these will be homework based. Plagiarism Cheating Plagiarism is the taking ideas and writings of another and passing them off as one’s own. * The teacher will notify the administration and contact parents if cheating / plagiarism is suspected. * The student will be given a zero for that particular test or assignment. * The student will receive a detention. In this class, plagiarism includes... 1. turning in another’s work as one’s own 2. copying work from a friend before class (or while in another class) 3. including a source but failing to cite it 4. copying an author’s exact words and passing them off as one’s own Consequences…. 1st time: a conference with me and half credit. 2nd time: parent contact and zero credit. 3rd time: parent teacher conference and detention/office referral. Book Treatment Agreement “I understand that I am responsible for the well being of the books that I barrow. I understand that any damage I inflict on a poor innocent book I will have to pay for.” Independent Reading Students will be responsible for reading a book every two weeks. This time frame allows students to adequately remember what they have read and talk about it with others. . Further information about reading will be provided later. Sign…_______________________
