Some activities you can do at home are: Read nightly for 20 minutes. Ask students about the story. What happened at the beginning, middle, and end? What is the job of the author and illustrator? Sort household objects in a variety of ways such as by color, shape, size, or material (try out: gummies, cereal, recycling materials, etc…) Count to 100 by ones and tens! Try some fun counting songs from Youtube! Practice writing numbers from 0-20. What are we learning this week? I can ask and answer questions about a text. I can identify the character, setting, and main events in stories. I can print letters. I can name all upper and lowercase letters. I can follow words from left to right, top to bottom, and page by page. I know that spoken words are represented by specific sequences of letters. I know that words are separated by spaces in print. I can ask questions to compare and sort objects made of different materials. I can use my senses and science tool to classify objects by one or more characteristics. I can explain what the rules are and why they should be followed. I can explain why rules are made. I can count to 100 by ones and tens. I can write numbers 0-20. I can count forward from any given number. I can classify objects into given categories.
