Definition of Youth Work We remain clear that the purposes of youth work are…..to promote achievement by young people through facilitating their personal, social and educational development and enabling them to gain a voice, influence and place in society (Scottish Executive 2007) 2

The 5 Entitlements a curriculum which is coherent the opportunity to obtain qualifications as well as to continue to develop the attributes and capabilities of the four capacities opportunities to continue to develop skills for learning, skills for life and skills for work with a focus on literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing personal support to enable them to gain as much as possible from the opportunities the Curriculum for Excellence can provide support in moving into positive and sustained destinations beyond school 3
