What major compromises were made at the Constitutional Convention of 1787?

At the Convention, a major conflict centered on the issue of determining the basis for state representation in Congress.

The Great Compromise was adopted to solve the conflict over state representation in Congress by creating a bicameral legislature. Roger Sherman Oliver Ellsworth

The Great Compromise gave each state two senators in the Senate . . .

. . . and a number of representatives, in the House of Representatives, based on population.
