Overview Planning Before, During, And After The Meeting Meeting Do's and Don't's Activities The Staff Briefing Resources

Planning Every meeting must have a purpose. Fail to plan, plan to fail Have a a mission statement or squadron values. Have a quarterly plan. Plan with staff and Senior Members. Short/Long term goals Listen more than you talk Make it fun Make it a team effort What do I want the cadets to go away with?

Three Questions Where are we? Where do we want to be? What is it going to take to get us there?

How Do You Plan? Quiet Music Individually/In a group Banner paper Laptop Notebook Weekend/Meeting Night Careful thought Impulsive

Before The Meeting Establish Staff If you don’t need a staff position, don’t create it. Have a weekly call down. Schedule all activities Yahoo groups Get your schedule out early Expect it to be changed

During The Meeting Start on time Stick to schedule but remain flexible Assign a cadet to greet new cadets Maintain a positive attitude CAP is a training ground

Meeting Do's and Don'ts Have something fun during your meeting Drill should not be used as your filler GLPs should not be used as fillers The more the cadets are doing outside of classes the better Ensure you are still getting your meeting objectives met Current with training syllabus

Activities Plan for monthly activities Include training activities in addition to fun activities Start a drill team, color guard,  or CyberPatriot team

The Staff Briefing Should be held as often as needed Should be brief and informative Set a start and end time Overview Feedback
