Vs. 1 – Each Day I’ll Do My life on earth is but a span – we only have so much time Eph. 5:16, Jas. 4:14-15 A so I’ll do the best I can – that is all God expects of us Col. 3:23, cf. Luke 17:10

We are children of God – 1 John 3:1-3 Vs. 2 – To be a child of God We are children of God – 1 John 3:1-3 My light must shine along the way – Matt. 5:14-16, 1 John 1:7 I’ll sing His praise while ages roll – worship Him openly, cf. Col. 3:16, Heb. 13:15

Vs. 2 – To be a child of God And strive to help some troubled soul – we need to be here for others, including those struggling Phil. 2:3-4, 1 Thess. 5:14

Vs. 3 – The only life that will endure The life that follows God endures James 5:11, 2 Tim. 2:12 Is one that’s kind and good and pure – proper attitudes Eph. 4:32, 1 Cor. 13:4 And so for God, I’ll take my stand – do we stand for Him? Rom. 1:16, 1 Pet. 4:16 Luke 9:26

Vs. 3 – The only life that will endure Each day I’ll lend a helping hand – there is no better way to bring glory to God than to help others

Vs. 4 – I’ll help someone In time of need – people are struggling. That is when they need others. And journey on with rapid speed – don’t’ delay Gal. 6:10, James 2:15-17 I’ll help the sick, and poor and weak – WHO do we help? Matt. 22:39, Rom. 13:9, cf. Luke 10:29-37

Vs. 4 – I’ll help someone And words of kindness to them speak – are we encouraging to all, especially the downtrodden? Col. 3:12-14, Rom. 12:17-18, don’t repay one with evil.

Vs. 5 – While going down life’s weary road Life is not easy. It can be wearisome. Gal. 6:9, 2 Thess. 3:13 I’ll try to lift some traveler’s load – Gal. 6:2, Acts 20:35, cf. Matt. 5:41
